About the camp
The camp is a 21-Acre wilderness camp within a designated Rideau Valley Conservation Authority conservation lands:
there are 13 permanent campsites, complete with fire pits, and dry wood boxes.
a small beach with direct access to Otty Lake
multiple KYBOs (outhouses, including an accessible port-a-potty in the main field) conveniently located to the camping sites.
a well with ample water production, with water that MUST be treated / filtered before using (non-potable).
a good-sized open area for games.
3 hiking trails (with varying degrees of difficulty and length).
selection of various sized pioneering poles.
Archery field with backstop (archery equipment currently not supplied).
a good-sized amphitheater campfire area that easily seats 50.
a peaceful outdoor Chapel under the pine trees for quiet reflection or as an ideal place for a Scouts own. Complete with amphitheater seating and a raise podium.
Camp Fees
As part of the changes to Scouting Properties in 2020, fees are charged to all groups booking sites at Whispering Pines. This revenue is used to maintain and improve the camp. Fees are subject to change (the changes made September 1st, 2017 are still in effect in 2021).

Leave No Trace
Whispering Pines practices Leave No Trace camping. All activities (hiking, fishing, camping, etc.) must be undertaken with minimal or no impact on the environment (stepping on grass isn't an issue, leaving any kind of garbage is, as is vandalizing or changing existing structures).
